What Would Grandfather Say Now?
by LostintheFog1999 inmy late grandfather believed he was one of the anointed.
that aside when asked about whether the jw organisation would last, he would pull out the attached wt magazine (the second edition) and say "if the day ever comes when the organisation asks for money outright, it will be proof that jehovah is not it's backer.
" that's how convinced he was that such a thing would never happen.. i often wonder what my grandfather would make of the modern organisation today..

Over 1,000 Days since Stephen Lett said this:
by Chevelle inhttps://youtu.be/jxumoix1rew.
“and in revelation chapter 6, the ride of the fourth horseman includes mention of deadly plague.
so the events unfolding around us are making clearer than ever that we’re living in the final part of the last days.

The 'end' will always be close. It will never come to fruition.

Removing verses form the NWT
by Phizzy inthe jw org has removed certain verses from their nwt version, claiming usually that what is removed is not found in the oldest mss, that claim is fair enough, until you ask a simple question, this :.
" if you are going to remove interpolations from the bible, where do you stop?"..
the org.

The WT can't have verses contradicting it's theology

''If it wasn't for ex JWs video's or this page i would have never known about what happened to T Morris.'
I know exactly. I just watch only what I have to of videos. It's just the same stuff over and over. I try to cap my ''viewing'' of videos to only certain channels, time or just come to the forums.

Pawn to Queen 2034 anyone?
by Fisherman innot a hint of a new date for the great tribulation.
the attitude of jw is that they expect it immediately although the inter-lapping anointed allows for any additional extended time.
given the time of the end, the end comes after the good news is preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations with the internet and 108 years and tons of publications even in finnish.

''Most JWs don't step back and look at the big picture. They just live day by day. Another meeting, another book, another field circus outing, another convention, on and on they go on the rat race.
I see it in my own family. Waiting for the big A for decades, through failed prophecies and timelines, they just believe the latest "understanding".
There is never a moment when they take a step back and realize that they have been in holding pattern for decades supported by multiple iterations of failed predictions.''
Just chalk it up to the ''sunk cost fallacy''. I mean what high - control group would come to the realization that ''we're no different than any other high - control group'' or ''what if we are even a little bit wrong''

Watchtower cashing in on the Hamburg tragedy?
by Listener inthank you very much atlantis for all your hard work and for emailing a letter written by the watchtower (coming from the german branch possibly) to be read out to congregations by elders.. there is so much wrong in this letter.
maybe some of it is due to being lost in translation but since the watchtower is predominantly english, it doesn't seem likely.
the letter is as follows -.

GB Update - Meet the new GB members
by eyeslice ini overheard my wife listening to '2023 governing body update #2, presented by kenneth cook jnr.
a few points i got from it.. new hour requirements.
quote "with the new hour requirements for pioneers, many us us can share in the pioneer work.

''Bringing it back to GB members, they of course encourage this thinking with all the fuss about how wonderfully spiritual it is to be a pioneer, and all the fawning over "fulltime service" in meeting parts and talks. They spend far more time emphasising that than, say, working on spiritual qualities (eg: the fruitage of the spirit) and being a better individual, married couple, family, etc,''
Don't worry. It's often been said that the Borg is it's own worst enemy.
